The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asked Donald Trump, during the meeting at the UN, for the delivery of long-range Tomahawk missiles, according to Axios. The leader from Kiev believes that these weapons could force the Kremlin to accept peace negotiations and emphasized that Ukraine urgently needs advanced military support from the United States. The request comes in the context of the intensification of Russian attacks on Ukrainian critical infrastructure and the increase in regional tensions, including through incursions of Russian drones into Polish airspace and the appearance of the Russian spy ship Yantar near European submarine cables.
