A bizarre incident occurred in Hungary, where a 24-year-old man stole a Cessna airplane from the airport in Kalocsa and flew towards the nuclear power plant in Paks, triggering a security alert.
During the hearings, the man stated that he was very drunk and did not remember details about the flight, mentioning that he had never piloted an airplane before. Despite having no experience, he managed to take off and enter the airspace of the plant, which led to the deployment of Gripen fighter jets for interception.
After a forced landing in a sunflower field, the young man attempted to steal a car but was caught by the police. His mother tried to protect him from journalists in court, and the judge decided to place him in preventive detention due to the risks of flight and tampering with evidence.
An aviation expert explained that Cessna airplanes can be started relatively easily, but piloting requires considerable skills and knowledge. The investigation continues to check for possible additional offenses.
