Usha Chilukuri Vance, an Indian immigrant, came to prominence with the nomination of her husband, J.D. Vance for Vice President of the United States.

She was born into an Indian immigrant family and had a Hindu upbringing that instilled values that have guided her success. With a bachelor's degree in history from Yale and a master's degree in philosophy from Cambridge University, she worked as a corporate lawyer and clerked for US Supreme Court justices.
