A UN-assisted helicopter crash-landed in Somalia after being captured by the Al-Qaida terrorist group.

The helicopter made an emergency landing due to a mechanical problem in the Al-Qaida-controlled Galmudug region of Somalia. On board were eight passengers, including foreigners. A rescue operation is underway. The UN spokesman confirmed the helicopter had been captured, saying the situation was being assessed.
