An American military helicopter MH-60S Sea Hawk crashed in the Arabian Sea on Wednesday morning during an emergency water landing, near the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush. The incident occurred around 03:30 (Eastern Time), and three of the four crew members were recovered and transported aboard the aircraft carrier, being in stable condition.
The U.S. Navy is conducting a large search and rescue operation to find the missing serviceman. U.S. authorities have emphasized that there is no evidence to suggest that the crash was caused by hostile action. The helicopter is part of the air wing of the USS George H.W. Bush, which has been operating in the Middle East since April. The U.S. military presence in the region remains high, in the context of ongoing tensions and security risks.
Until May, the U.S. reported losses of 42 aircraft as part of Operation "Epic Fury"
, not including a recent incident involving an Apache helicopter shot down by an Iranian drone.
