On the night from Friday to Saturday, Ukrainian air forces shot down 577 Russian attack systems, including 558 Shahed drones, cruise and ballistic missiles, following a bombing that resulted in the death of at least three people and dozens of injuries in Kyiv and surrounding areas. Although the attack was largely repelled, 35 drones and missiles managed to hit 22 areas in Ukraine.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the attack was a response to Ukrainian attacks on civilian targets in Russia, targeting the military-industrial complex and Ukrainian energy infrastructure. Following the attack, over 500,000 users in Kyiv and other regions were left without electricity, and repair works are currently underway. This incident occurs in the context of negotiations to end the conflict, with an American envoy set to visit Moscow next week.
