The Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, called for solidarity and dialogue between Warsaw and Kiev, in the context of the diplomatic tensions generated by the renaming of a Ukrainian military unit after the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), responsible for the massacres against Poles during World War II.

The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, sparked outrage in Poland with this decision, causing a deterioration in relations with one of Ukraine's most loyal supporters. Tusk requested direct discussions between Presidents Nawrocki and Zelensky, emphasizing the importance of cooperation in the face of the Russian threat.

Additionally, Polish public opinion has become more negative towards Ukraine, amid fatigue generated by the influx of refugees and disputes related to grain imports. In this context, the withdrawal of the White Eagle Order awarded to Zelensky is being discussed, and the Ukrainian Foreign Minister stated that the renaming was meant to commemorate the UPA's fight against Moscow, without the intention of offending Poland.
