Turkey will cover more than half of its gas needs by increasing domestic production and imports from the USA, reducing dependence on Russia and Iran.

By 2028, Turkey could meet more than 50% of its gas needs by increasing local production and imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the USA. This diversification, encouraged by international pressures, will reduce dependence on traditional suppliers such as Russia and Iran, and will support Turkey's ambitions to become a regional gas hub. Although Russia remains the main supplier, its market share is declining, and Ankara is rapidly expanding alternative sources, signing significant agreements for LNG imports.
