Monday, November 17, is the last day to submit candidacies for the position of general mayor of the Capital, and these will remain definitive on November 23. So far, the Electoral Bureau of Circumscription no. 42 has validated six candidacies: Cătălin Drulă (USR), Ciprian Ciucu (PNL), Anca Alexandrescu (Electoral Alliance "Justice for Bucharest"), George Valentin Burcea (Party of Young People), Daniel Băluță (PSD) and Virgil Alexandru Zidaru (independent).
Other candidacies have been submitted by Liviu Gheorghe Floarea (National Peasant Party Maniu-Mihalache), Eugen Teodorovici (independent) and Dan Cristian Popescu (independent). The decisions of the BEM can be contested within 24 hours of posting. The electoral campaign starts on November 22, and the partial local elections to replace Nicușor Dan at the General Mayor’s Office will take place on December 7.
