In a letter, Donald Trump informed NATO allies that the United States will impose severe sanctions on Russia only if other countries act similarly and stop purchasing oil from Russia. He emphasized the negative impact of oil imports on NATO's negotiating position. Trump also suggested increasing tariffs on China, stating that these measures could help end the war in Ukraine. Although the European Union has imposed bans on Russian oil, many countries continue to import resources from Russia, including Turkey, which is a major buyer of oil.
