Donald Trump has said he is optimistic about the possibility of reaching an agreement with Hamas this week that would facilitate the release of Israeli hostages. Indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas recently began in Doha, and Trump will discuss an American ceasefire proposal with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. Trump also said he is working on various issues with Israel, including a possible deal with Iran.
