President Donald Trump announced that he made a decision regarding Venezuela, accusing leader Nicolás Maduro of running a drug cartel and offering a reward of 50 million dollars for his capture. Maduro, on the other hand, claims that the U.S. is using the fight against drugs as a pretext to impose regime change and control the country's oil resources. Trump mentioned the progress in combating drug trafficking but acknowledged the issues with Mexico and Colombia. The Maduro regime has developed plans to deploy small military units to carry out acts of sabotage against foreign forces. In this context, the U.S. military has deployed a considerable fleet in the region, including the aircraft carrier Gerald Ford and 15,000 soldiers, as part of Operation Southern Lance, aimed at combating drug trafficking. Maduro criticized the American military exercises and called for an end to endless wars. Since the beginning of September, the U.S. has conducted airstrikes in the Caribbean, claiming to target drug traffickers, while Venezuela contests these claims, asserting that the victims are innocent fishermen.
