A Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner lost altitude after takeoff, killing 241 passengers. The active RAT raises questions about the engines.

The Ram Air Turbine (RAT) system worked to generate electricity and hydraulic pressure, allowing control of the aircraft in the absence of engines. The accident occurred a few seconds after takeoff, and the Boeing 787-8, equipped with GEnx engines, crashed, resulting in the death of all passengers, except for one survivor. India's aviation safety authority said no major problems had been identified in Air India's Boeing 787 fleet. Boeing has sought comment from Indian authorities.
