Admiral Tony Radakin, former Chief of the Defence Staff of the United Kingdom, says Ukraine will win the war and Russia will lose it. He made the statement on Wednesday in Brussels, during the “Support Ukraine – Defend Europe” event, organized by the Kyiv Security Forum Office in the European Union.

Radakin based his assessment on Ukraine’s ability to adapt quickly to conditions on the front, develop drone production and find unconventional solutions. He said the scale of the drone war had exceeded expectations and that Ukraine had built a significant capacity to strike Russia and keep its army under pressure.

The former British official said Ukraine could conduct operations on Russian territory as well, inflicting ever greater losses. In his view, these developments offer important lessons about modern warfare.

Radakin warned, however, that Ukraine’s economic base had weakened considerably over the past four months. He called on European states to increase their financial and military support. According to the admiral, negotiations can begin only if President Vladimir Putin is compelled to sit down at the negotiating table.
