Germany's wind energy production is estimated to reach a record level at the beginning of next week, with production exceeding 53 gigawatts, surpassing the historical maximum from two years ago. Temperatures will rise by 8 degrees Celsius above seasonal norms, which will reduce energy demand for heating. This situation has led to a decrease in prices on the energy market, with futures contracts for energy delivery in January falling by over 5%. Favorable weather phenomena, such as the jet stream, will bring warm air to Europe, contributing to increased wind energy production not only in Germany but also in the UK, Ireland, France, and Belgium.
It is also expected that Germany's residual demand will drop below zero, suggesting that wind energy production will be able to meet, and even exceed, the country's electricity needs.
