The United Kingdom has announced that it will send equipment and personnel to Belgium to help address the issues caused by drones that have led to the temporary closure of several airports. Richard Knighton, the head of the British armed forces, stated that assistance was requested by his Belgian counterpart, without providing details about the equipment or the number of experts involved. Drones have been observed over the airports in Brussels and Liege, causing significant disruptions in air traffic, including flight diversions and the temporary closure of airports in other countries, such as Sweden. Although it is not known who is behind these incidents, officials have mentioned the possible involvement of Russia in 'hybrid warfare' activities. The German Minister of Defense suggested a link between the drone incidents and discussions regarding the use of Russian frozen assets to finance a loan to Ukraine.
