The British Ministry of Defence has announced the launch, in March, of a pilot program aimed at young people under the age of 25, which will allow them to undergo paid training for a year in the ranks of the armed forces. Initially, the program will target 150 participants, but the government hopes to expand the scheme to include over 1,000 young people.

The Defence Secretary, John Healey, emphasized that this program is part of efforts to reconnect society with the armed forces, in a context of increasing threats, particularly from Russia. Young people will benefit from training in land, air, and naval forces, and at the end of the training year, they will decide whether they want to remain in the military. The government did not specify the amount of remuneration for participants.
