The Iranian ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, stated that the Strait of Hormuz will be open, but under new conditions that will be established by the Iranian and Omani authorities, including transit fees for ships.

This strait, through which approximately one-fifth of the world's oil previously transited, has been affected by the American-Israeli war, leading to severe restrictions on the transit of oil and liquefied natural gas. Iran claims that a permanent peace agreement would allow for variable fees to be charged depending on the type of ship and its cargo.

This proposal has been contested by U.S. President Donald Trump, who warned Oman not to cooperate with Iran in imposing fees.

At the same time, Israel has continued its attacks on military sites in Iran, despite calls for calm from the American administration.
