The Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez stated that the war between the US-Israel and Iran is an "extraordinary mistake" and "outside international legality."
In a press conference, he emphasized that this conflict will have negative consequences for Spain. His criticisms come in the context of an acute conflict with Donald Trump, who reproached Spain for not allowing the use of military bases for attacks on Iran. Trump threatened that he will cut trade relations with Madrid, an unprecedented action. Sanchez reaffirmed his government's position, stating that he will not yield to trade pressures and condemned the war, asserting that "you cannot play Russian roulette with the fate of millions of people." He concluded that Spain's position is clear: "No to war."
