The Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, stated that ceasefires represent good news, but we should not delude ourselves about the chaos and destruction caused by conflicts. His comments come after the US President announced the suspension of attacks on Iranian infrastructure for two weeks, generating optimism in financial markets. Sánchez, known as a critic of US and Israeli actions against Iran, emphasized the importance of diplomacy and international law to achieve lasting peace. He also mentioned that the Spanish government will not support actions that have caused destruction, referring to the initial attacks on Iran.

In the context of the ceasefire, world leaders, including Ursula von der Leyen and Keir Starmer, welcomed the agreement, considering it a necessary step towards de-escalation. However, analysts warn that the lack of trust between parties will complicate the path to stable peace. Additional discussions to resolve the crisis in the Middle East are scheduled to take place on Friday in Islamabad.
