The Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez told parliamentarians that the situation in Iran represents a conflict much more serious than the war in Iraq, describing it as absurd and illegal. Sánchez rejected requests from the United States to allow the use of military bases in Spain for actions against Iran, emphasizing the country's sovereignty and the desire not to participate in illegal wars.

According to a recent poll, 53.2% of Spaniards support Sánchez's decision. The Prime Minister also announced a government response plan worth 5 billion euros, aimed at mitigating the economic impact of the conflict, including aid and tax relief for households and businesses.
