According to a survey conducted by the Allensbach Institute, 65% of Germans believe that the United States represents a major threat to world peace, a significant increase from 46% in 2025 and 24% in 2024. Russia remains, however, perceived as the greatest threat, with 75-82% of Germans indicating it as a danger to global peace following the invasion of Ukraine. Additionally, 46% of respondents believe that China represents a threat. Regarding Germany's involvement in a war, only 3% think it is very likely, while 28% consider it rather likely. 40% of Germans believe it is unlikely that their country will be involved in a military conflict in the coming years. The survey was conducted on a sample of 1,077 people between January 6-9.
