The Cossacks, a historic military and social community from Russia, have taken on the role of maintaining public order in Anapa, a crowded resort in the southwest of Russia, in the context of the fuel crisis generated by Ukrainian attacks on energy infrastructure.

They are directing the lines formed by Russians waiting to refuel, with each motorist allowed to purchase only 20 liters of fuel at each refueling. The measures implemented by the Cossacks have reduced the waiting time from four hours to 30-40 minutes.

A Cossack, Anatoli Kasianov, stated that they serve the homeland and the Orthodox faith, helping people at gas stations and preventing conflicts. The energy infrastructure in Krasnodar and Crimea is frequently attacked, contributing to the current crisis.
