Taiwanese Prime Minister Cho Jung-tai welcomed a trade agreement with the United States on Friday, which reduces the tariffs imposed by Donald Trump on Taiwanese products from 20% to 15%. This agreement, considered an important achievement by Taiwanese officials, includes investment commitments of at least 250 billion dollars in the United States from Taiwanese companies, especially in the semiconductor sector. In return, Beijing condemned the agreement, stating that it opposes any arrangement that affects China's sovereignty, invoking the principle of one China. The Chinese Foreign Ministry urged the United States to respect this principle, emphasizing that Taiwan is considered an integral part of China.
