In the early hours of Wednesday, the air defense units in Sevastopol, occupied Crimea, shot down over 20 Ukrainian drones, while Ukraine launched Storm Shadow missiles from a modified Su-24 fighter jet. Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev reported that, although there were no casualties, several buildings, including a regional headquarters of the central bank and an apartment block, were damaged.
The Storm Shadow missiles, manufactured by a Franco-British consortium, have been the subject of protests from Russia, which summoned the ambassadors of the United Kingdom and France in the past. In a separate incident, two people were injured in Taganrog, Russia, after a missile was shot down. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that, in total, 140 drones were shot down that night.
