British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that he will remain at the helm of the Labour Party, describing his government as a "10-year project," despite calls for his resignation following the severe defeat suffered in the local elections.

The Labour Party suffered historic losses in the local elections, which amplified internal discontent and led to calls for a change in party leadership. Several MPs and former ministers criticized the current direction of the government, and some voices called for the initiation of a competition to elect a new leader.

Despite the pressures, Starmer stated that he will not "throw the party into chaos" with a resignation and promised a new political direction to regain the trust of voters.
