The Pakistani Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, announced significant progress in the negotiations between the USA and Iran, providing reasons for optimism for a positive outcome. The Pakistani Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, praised the efforts of American President Donald Trump for peace and emphasized Pakistan's commitment to continue discussions, hoping to host the next round of negotiations. Trump confirmed that the final details of the agreement are under discussion, mentioning the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.

However, a spokesman for the Iranian army stated that Iran will continue to control the strait, even in the event of an agreement. Iran has agreed to increase the number of ships passing through the strait, but will not return to a "free passage". Additionally, a potential memorandum of understanding stipulates that the USA and their allies will not attack Iran, and Iran will not launch preemptive strikes. Pakistan has mediated between the two parties, having meetings with Iranian and American delegates.
