Pedro Sánchez's government suffered a significant defeat when lawmakers voted against a bill designed to avoid another blackout similar to the one in April. The bill, adopted on June 24, received just 165 votes in favor, while a majority of 183 MPs, including the extremes, opposed it. The prime minister said he would press ahead with the plan, confident it would be approved.
