Pedro Sánchez declared himself open on Friday to a possible reform of the law regarding foreigners, in the context of the influx of thousands of Moroccan migrants into Ceuta. The Prime Minister condemned this action, considering it an attack on the territorial integrity of Spain.

In a press conference, he assured the residents of Ceuta that the government is taking care of their emotional state and has expedited the expulsion cases for recently arrived migrants. As of Friday, over 25,000 Moroccans have been repatriated, and the Moroccan authorities have promised cooperation.

Sánchez emphasized that the situation is the result of a distorted interpretation of a ruling by the Supreme Court in Madrid. While awaiting legislative reforms, the government will implement temporary measures, including the placement of buoys at the border to control the migratory flow. The estimated number of migrants who have entered Ceuta illegally stands at 49,000, and the Ministry of the Interior anticipates an increase in repatriations.
