The Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, condemned the "selfish" attitude of some member states of the European Union in the context of the migration crisis in the enclave of Ceuta. In a letter addressed to the leaders of European institutions, he called for the organization of a videoconference of interior ministers to discuss the issue. Sanchez emphasized that prejudices and political interests not only contradict European and humanitarian law but also affect the long-term interests of Europe. The crisis was exacerbated by the influx of tens of thousands of migrants who crossed into Ceuta, causing chaos and their voluntary return to Morocco. Following the incidents, Spain mobilized the armed forces and police to restore order, while Italy and France announced stricter measures at the borders. At least 57 migrants died during this influx.
