Russia shelled a penal colony in the Zaporozhe region of Ukraine on Tuesday night, killing 16 people and injuring at least 35. Governor Ivan Fedorov said the attacks destroyed the colony's buildings and damaged nearby homes. The Ukrainian authorities continue to intervene to provide medical care to the wounded. Zaporozhe is one of the regions annexed by Russia in 2022 and has been a constant target of Russian attacks.
