Domodedovo Airport, Moscow's only major privately-owned airport, is to be transferred to the Russian state after a court decision, which approved the request by the Prosecutor General's Office. It claims the airport is under foreign influence, with shareholders from Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Israel. The nationalization is part of a series of measures taken by Russia to take over foreign assets following sanctions imposed after the invasion of Ukraine. The airport was privatized in the 1990s and handled more than 15 million passengers in 2024.
