A recent Russian attack targeted a bus carrying Ukrainian miners near the city of Pavlohrad, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, resulting in the death of at least 15 miners and injuring another seven. The energy company DTEK announced that the attack was part of a larger offensive against its mines, using drones to strike the bus in Ternivka while transporting civilians uninvolved in the fighting. The regional governor, Oleksandr Hanja, and the Ukrainian Ombudsman, Dmitro Lubineț, condemned the attack as brutal.
On the same day, Russia also launched attacks on the city of Zaporijjia, injuring new individuals, including a child. These attacks occur in the context of peace negotiations between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia, and the strikes have exacerbated the energy crisis in Ukraine. Additionally, U.S. President Donald Trump mentioned a temporary agreement to suspend attacks, but Moscow clarified that this only applies to Kyiv.
