At least 30 people were killed and 18 were injured on Thursday by a Russian glide bomb in Kramatorsk, where two buses traveling along the same street were hit in this key city on Ukraine's eastern front, AFP reports.
The initial death toll announced by the authorities was 12.
“At present, the toll from this morning’s attack stands at 30 dead, with another 18 people injured,” the Ukrainian regional prosecutor’s office in Donetsk said in a statement on social media.
Photographs accompanying the statement show a bus engulfed in flames and several blurred bodies lying on the ground. The regional prosecutor’s office in Donetsk announced the opening of a preliminary investigation for a “war crime.”
