Russia announced that it intercepted and shot down 287 Ukrainian drones during a night of attacks, marking one of the largest assaults on Ukraine in nearly four years of conflict. Of these drones, 32 were headed towards Moscow, prompting the Russian Ministry of Defense to impose temporary restrictions at the four airports in the capital: Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky. As a result, dozens of flights were canceled, delayed, or redirected. These attacks come against the backdrop of daily Russian bombings on Ukraine, which have continued to affect the entire country since the start of the invasion in February 2022. Ukraine has regularly launched drone attacks on Russia, targeting military and energy infrastructure.
