The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that in the last 24 hours Russia has not launched missile or drone attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure, although there have been attacks on facilities in the front-line areas. This situation reflects the limits of the short-term energy truce accepted by Russia at the request of American President Donald Trump.
Zelensky mentioned that intervention teams have managed to repair damaged energy facilities, but challenges remain serious due to the cold weather and Russian attacks. Russia has focused on attacking logistics, especially railway infrastructure.
Although both parties have stated that they have ceased attacks on energy infrastructure, they have not agreed on the duration of the truce. Despite this truce, Russian attacks have continued, including a drone attack that killed 12 miners in Dnipropetrovsk. Discussions between Kiev and Moscow are scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi to explore ways to end the conflict.
