Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia on Sunday of attacking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, as well as its oil and gas sector, 76 times in the week following U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement that attacks on energy infrastructure would be halted.
“Since the U.S. president announced the energy truce a week ago, Russia has deliberately attacked Ukraine’s energy sector and oil and gas industry 76 times,” Zelensky wrote on the X platform.
According to the leader in Kyiv, the latest attacks targeted power stations in the Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi and Odesa regions. The statement represents Ukraine’s latest accusation that the purported energy truce has been violated.
Neither Kyiv nor Moscow has confirmed the existence of an agreement to halt the attacks. Trump has repeatedly accused Zelensky of attacking oil refineries in Russia, arguing that these operations contribute to rising global fuel prices. Last week, the U.S. president even suggested that Ukraine might need a new president.
