Robert F. Kennedy Jr., head of the Department of Health and Social Services, stated that Tylenol should be used with caution during pregnancy, emphasizing that there is not enough evidence to support a direct link between this medication and autism. His comments come after the White House discouraged the use of Tylenol by pregnant women. Kennedy mentioned that, although there is no clear evidence, studies suggest a potential association. Recently, the Attorney General of Texas sued Kenvue, the manufacturer of the drug, and the company defended the efficacy and safety of Tylenol, denying any link to autism. The FDA also announced that it will modify the safety label for acetaminophen, acknowledging the conflicting literature regarding its effects on neurological development. Kenvue highlighted the importance of consulting a doctor before using the medication during pregnancy.
