Rheinmetall, one of Europe’s largest arms manufacturers, has lowered its financial forecasts for 2026 after delays in the execution of certain defense contracts and ammunition deliveries postponed some revenue to the following year.
The German group now estimates revenue of approximately 13.2 billion euros in 2026, compared with the previously anticipated range of 13.7–14.2 billion euros. The projected operating margin was also revised downward, from approximately 19% to 18.5%.
At the same time, Rheinmetall expanded its presence in Romania by taking over the Damen Mangalia shipyard, in a transaction worth 138 million euros completed at the beginning of October. The shipyard had entered bankruptcy in April 2026 after creditors rejected the reorganization plan.
The Constanța Tribunal approved the accelerated sale of the assets. After several auctions without buyers, the starting price was reduced from approximately 184 million euros to around 138 million euros.
