The fire, also known as Fire 6-5, broke out on Tuesday and quickly burned over 6.25 square miles, forcing the evacuation of the town of Chinese Camp and nearby highways. At least five homes were engulfed in flames, and the fire remained uncontrolled on Tuesday evening. People were forced to evacuate their homes, and officials requested additional resources such as fire engines, bulldozers, and aircraft.
