An analysis by DataWeave shows that prices of Chinese goods on Amazon rose significantly, by 2.6% between January and June, in contrast to inflation of just 1% for goods. The increase is being influenced by new tariffs imposed by the Trump administration, affecting items such as school supplies, electronics and household goods. Retailers have started to pass on costs to consumers and retail sales have fallen, signaling possible economic pressure.
