Poland has been excluded from recent diplomatic meetings regarding a peace agreement in Ukraine, which has generated frustration among Polish leaders. Although Warsaw has played an active role in supporting Ukraine, including hosting refugees and providing weapons, its absence from the negotiations is seen as a harsh blow. Senator Marek Pęk accused the liberal government led by Donald Tusk of incompetence, while Tusk acknowledged that the exclusion reflects geopolitical realities and considered it a "compliment."

Poland, with the highest per capita defense spending in NATO, wishes to double its military forces, but its influence has diminished in the face of other European states promising new defense systems. Additionally, internal conflicts between Tusk and President Karol Nawrocki complicate Poland's foreign policy, each having a different approach in relations with Washington. The absence of a unified voice in diplomacy could severely affect Poland's position in future international negotiations.
