Poland has decided to close its border with Belarus at midnight, in response to the Zapad military exercise conducted by Russia and Belarus, which involves tens of thousands of soldiers and simulations with nuclear missile systems. Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized that these maneuvers, considered "very aggressive", increase provocations from Russia. The exercises are taking place near NATO borders and target strategies for conquering the Suwałki corridor. This is not the first time Poland has restricted access to the border with Belarus, considering the recent tensions.
