Poland and Spain have agreed to purchase at least seven Airbus A330 MRTT aircraft, intended for in-flight refueling and strategic transport, through the European SAFE program. Poland will receive four of these aircraft by 2030, with an estimated contract value of 5.4 billion euros.
The Spanish government has approved the framework agreement, and Polish Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized the importance of this acquisition for the Polish Air Force, which is introducing F-35 fighter jets. The agreement will remain in effect for seven years and will benefit from funding from the European Union's 'Security Action for Europe' program. The Airbus A330 MRTT, based on the civilian A330 model, is essential for refueling and transport missions, already having users among NATO member states.
