The Pizza Hut restaurant chain in the United Kingdom has entered insolvency, affecting 68 dine-in locations operated by DC London Pie Ltd. This decision comes after HMRC filed a liquidation request due to unpaid debts. Although the company did not specify how many employees will be affected, sources indicate that approximately 741 jobs are at risk. Some locations have sent staff home without clear explanations, causing confusion and concern among employees. Takeaway restaurants are not affected, as they are operated by a separate entity. Yum! Brands acted quickly, saving 64 locations and ensuring the transfer of over 2,259 employees into the new business structure. The financial crisis was triggered by the bankruptcy of the former owner, Heart with Smart Limited, which had debts of nearly 40 million pounds.
