Péter Magyar: Paks operates at maximum capacity / The nuclear power plant in Romania, previously cited as an example, has been shut down for two weeks.

The Prime Minister of Hungary, Péter Magyar, has once again criticized Romania, comparing the nuclear power plant at Paks, which operates at full capacity, with the plant at Cernavodă, which is shut down due to the low level of the Danube.

Magyar announced on Facebook that all four reactors and the 8 turbines at Paks are operating "flawlessly" and mentioned the rapid progress in the construction of the foundation dam at the Hungarian plant. Magyar argued that the Romanian plant had previously been presented as an example of "today's experts," using this situation to mock Romania.

This is not the first time Magyar has made such comments. At the beginning of August, after the shutdown of some reactors at Paks due to the declining level of the Danube, Hungary took measures to raise the water level near the plant, including works on the Danube. The Hungarian Prime Minister also used the situation at Cernavodă to criticize Romania then.

"Our Homeland Movement and Fidesz have called for us to do what was done at the nuclear power plant in Romania. We did not listen to them. The nuclear power plant at Paks is operating now, while the nuclear power plant in Romania had to be completely shut down for at least 10 days,” wrote Péter Magyar on Facebook.
