According to a preliminary note from France's Court of Auditors, the cost of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games is almost €6 billion, well above the initial estimate of €4.4 billion. The costs include €2.7bn for the organization, of which €1.4bn for security and €3bn for infrastructure. The discrepancy has sparked controversy, with organizers disputing the figures. The court will publish a final report in the fall, which will also assess the economic benefits of the event.
