The cost of constructing the Brașov Multipurpose Hall has been increased again, reaching 337,440,073 lei, excluding VAT. The new cost was announced after 3 p.m. through an update published on the electronic public procurement platform.
The project was initially estimated at approximately 27.6 million lei, excluding VAT, but its value increased successively. In 2024, it reached 280,025,207 lei, and in 2025 it was raised to 280,414,129 lei. In January 2026, the project cost increased to 297,673,844 lei, followed by the announcement of a value of 324,551,529 lei, and now 337,440,073 lei, all amounts excluding VAT.
Work began in September 2022, after four years of project preparation and funding identification. The investment was taken over by the National Investment Company. The initial completion deadline was November 2025, but technical difficulties and weather conditions led to its extension until June 9, 2027.
The hall will have 10,059 seats and will be able to host sports competitions, concerts, conferences, congresses, and cultural events. The project aims to have the arena approved to national and international standards.
