Netflix's withdrawal was interpreted by some as a support for the value of Paramount's offer. Additionally, recent discussions by Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos with Trump administration officials have sparked controversy, being seen as a possible influence on Netflix's decision to withdraw from the bidding. Paramount intends to acquire all WBD assets, including CNN and HBO, thereby strengthening its media empire.
