The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has announced that the laureates have demonstrated through experiments that quantum properties can be applied in large-scale superconducting electrical systems. They showed how an electric circuit can transition from one state to another, absorbing and emitting energy in precise doses, according to quantum mechanics. Last year, the award was given for contributions to artificial intelligence, sparking controversy in the scientific community.
